Completed: March, 2017
Waltondale Primary School, Zimbabwe
Supplying Water To
Approximately 500 students, teachers & community member
New Borehole Drilled + Installed New Bush Pump. Also, built Pump platform, water catchment trough & washing stands
Depth of Borehole: 60 Meters – Estimate 1000+ Liters per hour
Previous Water Source: Local shallow wells, however these dry up during the dry season, so they are forced to the local river. A local tractor delivers water some days during the week, however it is never enough to supply everyone.
Project Inspiration: Waltondale Primary is an amazing school with a supporting community surrounding it. It broke our hearts when we saw empty buckets left over after the famers truck had been, and knowing that the wells were empty. After becoming involved with the school, it was apparent they were extremely keen to further the school’s programs, however were limited by the lack of water.
