Completed: 22nd September 2014
Mutengu Village, Tengwe, Zimbabwe
Supplying Water To
Approximately 750 People
Borehole Rehabilitation including new platform and soak away trough.
Depth of Borehole: 26 meters
Static Water Level: 9.6 meters
Previous Water Source: A very shallow open well 2km from the homestead, the water was visibly dirty & had no protection. Just before we completed the project this well dried up and the village had no option but to travel 6km each way to their closest water source.
Project Inspiration: To provide a safewater source for the orphans, elderly & general community, to reduce the health issues associated with drinking the extremely dirty water from their open well. This water source will provide clean & safe water all year round, and most importantly will last all year around, especially through the dry months. (May – November)
