Completed: 3rd September 2014
Nyakudya Village, Domboshawa, Zimbabwe
Supplying Water To
Approximately 250 people
Borehole Drilling + Bush Pump Installation including new platform + soak away trough.
Depth of Borehole: 52 meters
Static Water Level: 3.2 meters
Previous Water Source: An open, unprotected well which was a walking distance of 3km for the ladies- multiple times per day.
Project Inspiration: A group of mothers in this village have formed an association: Zimbabwe Parents of Handicapped Children Association (ZPHCA). The Mothers are severely disadvantaged with basic every day living as they have to stay at home, looking after their disabled child / children who often cannot attend school or even leave the house. The new source of clean water is central in the village & opens many opportunities for them, whilst still close to home to allow for family care.
